We have a few different quarries we use which supply us with different colours of schist. Which can be layed in different styles from tight stack pictured here to bagged which has wider gaps between the stone and then coloured mortor put between them.

Fireplace and Hearth area
This job has a minimal veneer stone option on the wall, more of a lighter weight, tight area stonework.
The hearth was cut into random sizes and pointed with a black mortar for a final touch.
